R-Success

Reading Success Using Co-Constructive Elaborative Storytelling Strategies (R-SUCCESS) is a classroom-based program that capitalizes on Latine families’ cultural funds of knowledge to support preschoolers’ early literacy skills. Funded by the Brady Education Foundation and the Brooke Astor Foundation, R-SUCCESS provides a teacher-focused oral storytelling intervention that incorporates Latine and African heritage cultural forms of narrative that children bring into the classroom in order to strengthen children’s early literacy. More broadly, this project seeks to improve the educational equity practices that support children from minoritized under-resourced communities.
